Rick's Review- May

Dear Columbus Associate,

 

We’re sorry for the delay in getting the Overview out to you, but we did want to make sure that we got a recap of the month of May out to you.  Overall it was a really good month with every department seeing year-over-year increases. 

 

New car volume was a total of 398 units, an increase of 18 units for a 5% increase over 2014.  Nissan saw the largest increase at just over 11%, followed by Lexus of Dublin at just over 10%.   It’s always a good month when we outpace the industry growth, and we managed to do that last month. 

 

In the pre-owned departments we saw a similar increase with 365 pre-owned units, an increase of just over 5%.  Lexus of Dublin and Ford had really good pre-owned months with LOD selling 84, up 21% and Ford hitting 100 with a 14% increase.

 

And once again Ford and Nissan led the board in total F&I revenue generation per vehicle sold, as well as the year-over-year increase.  Ford was up 17% and Nissan was up 4%, so keep up the good work!

 

For the first time in a while we finally managed to see some increase in parts and service overall.   In parts Lexus of Easton was up over 15%, along with Mazda being up just over 5%.  Likewise in service Lexus of Easton was up 16%, followed by Nissan up around 8%.  All in all, it was nice to see an increase in parts and service. 

 

While we were off a little bit once again at the Body Shop, we should be back up to full staff and able to handle the volume of business that will get us back on track.

 

We would also like to recognize our Top Performers for the month of May.  Congratulations George Halbert, Bryon Tonn, Dean Mosier, Brandon Pfeifer, Scott Cropper and Bob Tschappat.  You’ll also notice that going forward we thought it was important to recognize those associates who go out of their way to provide exceptional service to our customers in sales and service.   In the Top Performers tab we’ve also listed those of you with the highest CSI scores at your individual stores.  So make sure to open up the tab and check it out.     As we have done over the years with our group of Top Performers, we are planning to host an event for the CSI Top Performers at the end of the year.  Make sure you’re doing everything you can to be included in that group. 

 

Welcome to all of those who joined us this past month.  We are thrilled to have you as part of the team, and appreciate you letting us put you on the spot with a photo.  It really does help everyone put a name with a face.   Congratulations to Matthew Lane who is celebrating 17 years of service at Germain Ford.

 

With just 6 days left in the month we have a little bit of work cut out for us based on the fact that we haven’t seen as much traffic as we would have expected up to this point.   Let’s make sure we’re doing everything we possibly can to make this a really productive finish.

 

Just to reiterate in case you missed the email, but we will be observing special holiday hours for the 4th of July weekend:

 

Friday July 3rd: All dealerships close at 5PM

Saturday July 4th: All dealerships will be closed

Sunday July 5th: Sales departments will be open 11AM-5PM
